Ugh! DON'T.I don't know who is giving this book 3-5 stars. The main character "supposedly" knows how to fight but can't protect herself AND keeps passing out during stressful situations. I gave it one star only due to the guys in the book.Too bad the cover looked promising.
I hate trying to summarize a book I've read with a headline, so I apologize because this headline doesn't do the book justice! There's so much more going on beneath, behind, and above the primary story line. Ultimately, a young witch in hiding must confront her past and bravely take on an unknown future, with a heartbreaking loss hanging over her head. The men are there, and the heat and attraction are undeniable, but the author built this world around a woman, and stayed true to her struggles and story throughout. Mysterious and suspicious deaths dominate the MC'S mind, but, underneath it is a woman learning to accept and love who she really is inside. I loved the support of her love interests and, also, her eventual acknowledgement of their potential. The story has everything I could ever want. A strong and powerful female, a supportive, and strong, cast of men, a tense and action packed storyline, and growth in the characters throughout. I love that the author seemlessly wove my favorite parts of urban fantasy, and mystery, into the realm of romance and reverse harem dreams. It's all my best birthday wishes in one. I am beyond thrilled and so excited to read more from this author! Please don't hesitate to read it today! You may get more than you could ever dream!
Meh, I didn't get this book at all. I found many of the descriptions redundant (autumn eyes, or honey eyes), with some continuity hiccups (a character who supposedly just met her talking about how "smart and great at thinking on your feet" Gray is--how would he know to make this determination?). I had a struggle to stay engaged, and half-way through, I considered giving up but I paid full price for the book and was determined to finish. For me, this was an uninspiring 2-star read, but others may feel differently, as there is nothing wrong with the writing, I simply didn't connect with the characters and storyline.
I absolutely loved this book! I honestly can’t think of anything wrong with it. All of the characters were likable & intriguing. I’m personally in love with Darius, Liam & Asher. Darius is a smooth, domineering vampire, Liam is Death & Asher is an incubus with a dark past. You can’t go wrong with a handsome vampire or a hot demon. I’ve never read a book with Death as a love interest, but I can’t wait to see his & Gray’s relationship develop.Of course, there are two other handsome, swoon-worthy men, Ronan & Emilio. Ronan is another sexy demon & Gray’s oldest friend. He has some secrets of his own & he fights his feelings for Gray because of them. Emilio is a hunky, sweet-as-sugar werewolf detective. He & Gray don’t spend a lot of time together, but that’ll change in later books, I’m sure. As far as romantic relationships go, this book focuses mostly on Ronan & Gray, with a good amount of Darius & Gray mixed in with a dash of Asher & Gray for even more hot & spicy yummy flavor.Editing wise, there was maybe only one mistake. The grammar & spelling was great, which is hard to find in a lot of books. One thing I especially liked about the book was the author didn’t use any derogatory terms for the female anatomy. It was very refreshing.This book is absolutely amazing. I can’t remember if this book was available for Kindle Unlimited when I came across this book, but if it was, I still would have pirchased it after reading it. It’s definitely worth another read or two, & any fan of the genre should have this book in their library. I can’t remember the last time I’ve loved a book so much & been this excited for its sequels.
Wow! This story was great. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect considering the cast was quite a mix of "bad guys", but I loved everything. I like a bit of dark in some books and this one was perfect. I adore witches, but add in a vampire, a shifter and a couple demons and I was hooked. I can't wait to get my hands on book 2!!!
I've started and stopped reading this book multiple times. I enjoyed it, but I couldn't always concentrate on it. That doesn't mean that I didn't find it good, I just couldn't get into it at that time. I'll definitely continue the series, though.

I just needed to know what happened next.Oh, I can't hardly wait to find out how Gray's relationship unfolds with Death, aka Liam! I really hope we find out in book two!This is the first book I've read by Sarah Piper and I'm so happy I chose to do so.

This was a new release when I first read it, and I've just reread it in preparation for devouring the entire six books. Or more if more are coming.I. Cannot. Wait!
