No one and I mean no one has ever written a description of WIND like John Muir.
Mr. Muir was an interesting person. I enjoy his writing and love reading about the country before it was covered in concrete.
Fred D. White has done an excellent job of giving the reader a taste of Muir's extensive writings. Muir has the conscience of an environmentalist, the scientific background of a botanist and geologist, and the soul of a poet, quite an intriguing combination.
I bought this for my dad. A lovely little book for nature lovers or those that find their spirituality in the woods.
This is such a wonderful introduction to the writings of John Muir. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys and appreciates the natural resources and landscapes of the United States. I loved how it balanced his time our west (which he is probably best known for) with his earlier writings and ventures back east. It is very encouraging to see where he came from and how he stayed true to his passions.
This selection is useful if looking for brief pieces and I am. So the book is good for me, while for others it could be a problem.
I didn't know what to expect from this collection. So sweet and insightful. It's something I can pick up and read a litlle bit at a time. They chose great selections.
